Tax Litigation Lawyer Focussing on Complex Tax Disputes

Inès Khalfi is a tax litigation lawyer whose practice focuses primarily on disputes between taxpayers and tax authorities, including tax audits, contested assessments, negotiations with tax authorities, and litigation proceedings. She works on matters involving, among other things, tax penalties, shareholder benefits, anti-avoidance rules, and compliance issues affecting both individuals and corporations.

Prior to joining Elysium Legal, Inès practised at a recognized law firm where she handled tax litigation matters as well as public and constitutional law files. During her studies, she acquired experience in litigation at a national firm while also working as a research assistant at the Université de Montréal as part of the Access to Law and Justice (ADAJ) research initiative. Her experience has led her to analyze complex issues involving procedure, statutory interpretation, and judicial review of administrative decisions.

Inès graduated magna cum laude in law from the Université de Montréal and is currently completing a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Taxation at HEC Montréal. Passionate about the evolution and interpretation of tax law, Inès is recognized for her analytical rigor, strong legal research skills, and ability to clearly explain complex legal issues. She adopts a strategic and detail-oriented approach to the management of tax disputes and the defence of her clients’ interests.
